Honor of Kings/Zhu Bajie

Zhu Bajie

Tank

An unkillable brawler whose lost HP lingers as reclaimable damage, letting him fight through poke that would drop most tanks.

Strengths

  • His passive banks recent damage taken as recoverable HP whenever he deals damage, softening poke.
  • His bouncing leap hits an area twice and launches enemies, great for both engaging and escaping.
  • His wall skill blocks enemy heroes from passing, controlling positioning in skirmishes.

Abilities

  • Passive · Unscathed — Lost HP is temporarily banked as recoverable; dealing damage to a hero (or non-hero) converts 45% (or 20%) of it back into real HP. Banked HP starts decaying 7 seconds after it's created, at 3% max HP per second. Basics deal bonus physical damage.
  • 1 · Meat Bomb Trampoline — Leaps and slams down for physical damage, then bounces again for the same damage plus a 0.5-second launch; damage falls off against multiple targets (down to a 60% floor), with bonus damage vs. minions/monsters. He rolls forward on the second landing, and has hyper armor throughout.
  • 2 · Backfire Rake — Extends his rake forward for physical damage and a 60% slow; if it lodges into a wall, he rams himself and any enemy in the way into it for bonus damage and a stun. Passively, landing this empowers his next basic within 3 seconds to yank the enemy back to him.
  • Ultimate · Pen the Herd — Raises a wall for up to 4 seconds that blocks enemy heroes from passing, dealing physical damage to whoever's in front when it goes up; grants hyper armor while casting.

Recommended Build

Build 1: Shadowstalker Boots → Crimson Lotus Cloak → Phoenix's Eye → Warlord's Plate → Glacial Storm → Witch's Cloak

Tip: Zhu Bajie thrives in extended duels — a full-tank build lets fights run long enough for his sustain advantage to win it.

Build 2: Shadowstalker Boots → Crimson Lotus Cloak → Phoenix's Eye → Glacial Storm → Shadow Battleaxe → Lightning Dagger

Tip: When teammates are tanky enough already, he can share some of the damage load — Shadow Battleaxe and Glacial Storm keep him flexible in fights, and Lightning Dagger adds enough threat that enemies can't ignore his rake.

Recommended Inscriptions

Inscriptions: Mutation, Void, Harmony

Tip: Cooldown reduction and max HP let him move in and out of fights with confidence, while a moderate amount of armor penetration adds meaningful physical damage.

Team Composition

A suggested 5-lane lineup built around Zhu Bajie, based on hero partnerships and role synergy — not win rate.
