Honor of Kings/Huang Zhong

Huang Zhong

Marksman

A veteran marksman whose steady hand delivers precise, high-impact shots from extreme range.

Strengths

  • Longest base range among marksmen, dominating early poke wars.
  • Ultimate can snipe an isolated target from off-screen.
  • Strong scaling makes him a persistent late-game threat.

Abilities

  • Passive · Cannoneer's Fire — Basic attacks grant stacking attack power and crit chance (up to 5 stacks, 1.5 seconds each); in turret form these bonuses double, and entering or exiting turret form refreshes and rescales existing stacks.
  • 1 · Pursuit Potential — Grants a decaying 70% move-speed burst over 2 seconds, and instantly exits turret form if active. Passively adds bonus physical attack.
  • 2 · Vigilance Mine — Plants a vision-granting mine at a location, dealing physical damage and revealing the target on contact (bonus slow and armor shred against heroes) while granting himself a shield.
  • Ultimate · Siege Cannon — Repositions slightly and deploys into an immobile turret for 15 seconds, gaining bonus physical and magic defense; each basic attack deals bonus physical damage to enemies near the center (reduced at the edges, and against towers). Automatically exits after several shots; entering turret form refreshes his 1's cooldown, and casting again exits early.

Recommended Build

Build 1: Boots of Haste → Lightning Dagger → Endless Blade → Blood-Weeping Blade → Dawnbreaker → Shadow Blade

Tip: Once he's stacked crit chance from Lightning Dagger and Endless Blade, Shadow Blade's passive procs constantly, amplifying his damage output even further.

Build 2: Boots of Haste → Pure Sky → Lightning Dagger → Endless Blade → Dawnbreaker → Blood-Weeping Blade

Tip: He can't move while his ultimate is active and often draws a dive — Pure Sky paired with the ultimate's defense boost lets him hold his ground and fight back.

Recommended Inscriptions

Inscriptions: Unrivaled, Hawkeye, Beastmark

Tip: As a stationary damage dealer, Huang Zhong doesn't need much move speed, and his 1 and 2 already cover speed and slow needs — so lean into attack and penetration; late-game, Unrivaled's crit stacks with Endless Blade for devastating damage.

Hero Relationships

Best with: Bai Qi, Xiang Yu Counters: Han Xin, Zhuge Liang Countered by: Lan Ling Wang, Mulan

Team Composition

A suggested 5-lane lineup built around Huang Zhong, based on hero partnerships and role synergy — not win rate.
